MONTROSE, Calif. -- Montrose Travel introduced a proprietary
software program for corporate clients that is said to give them
more detail about their employees' credit card transactions.
The way it works is that Montrose can add up to 25 characters to
Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit card statements that
will provide corporations with specific information on what their
employees are buying.
Some travel agencies, said Montrose president Joe McClure, lump
their fees together with ticket or rental car charges when billing
clients.
"When you have hundreds of flights, hotel rooms and rental cars
on one Visa credit card statement each month, it is almost
impossible for that CFO to know if he is paying for an airline
ticket or for their travel agency to move a pencil," said
McClure.
