The Department of Transportation approved a request Wednesday by Maxjet Airways to withdraw the bankrupt, premium-flight carrier's application to transfer its certificates.

The carrier had filed an application May 22 to transfer the certificates, which authorize scheduled and charter flight operations.

But on Aug. 5, the carrier told the DOT it had terminated its asset purchase agreement with Maxjet Airways Acquisition Group/NCA Maxjet Inc.

On Aug. 11, Maxjet asked the DOT to approve a request to withdraw the applications for the transfer.
