SAN FRANCISCO -- Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts opened a
277-room hotel in San Francisco, marking the luxury hotelier's
return to the city after a six-year absence.
The new Four Seasons San Francisco occupies 12 floors of a
40-story building on Market Street, in the Yerba Buena
neighborhood.
From 1976 to 1995, Four Seasons managed the Clift Hotel on Geary
Street. That hotel is now owned by Ian Schrager Hotels.
The Four Seasons San Francisco, the 51st in the Four Seasons
portfolio, is the fourth opening this year for the Canadian firm,
along with other hotels in Prague, Czech Republic; Dublin, Ireland,
and Caracas, Venezuela.
