Paradisus resorts open in Riviera Maya: Travel Weekly

Melia Hotels International’s all-inclusive Paradisus brand expanded its portfolio with the opening of its first two resorts in Mexico.

The Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Esmeralda and the Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla are both in the Riviera Maya.

Amenities at the 512-suite Esmeralda include a family concierge, milk-and-cookie turn-down service and a restaurant just for families.

The 394-suite, adults-only La Perla offers butler service and an exclusive pool, bar and restaurant for Royal Service guests.

Both resorts share a common area called El Zocalo.

El Zocalo offers 10 restaurants and bars, an activities center, a theater, a ballroom and meeting space, a spa and health club, and a beach club.

Activities available to guests at both resorts include dance lessons, bike tours, wine tastings, golf, kayaking and water sports.

There are two Paradisus resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. A new Paradisus will open in Papagayo Bay, Costa Rica, in 2013.
