ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- ASTA, in cooperation with Best Western
International, said it will hold sessions of its Model Agency
Program at Best Western hotels across the country. The first
seminar was held earlier this month in Milwaukee.
ASTA members attending the seminars who are eligible receive 10
continuing-education units from the Travel Institute (formerly
ICTA).
Industry expert Nolan Burris of Vancouver-based Visionistics
will present the half- and full-day seminars.
ASTA launched the series last May and held a limited number of
them at ASTA events. It held two at last week's ASTA World Travel
Congress in Miami Beach.
But under the new schedule, the seminars will be held at "the
grassroots" level in several cities.
ASTA said 20 of its 32 chapters have agreed to organize the
Model Agency program in their areas. All seminars will be held at
Best Western hotels. So far, 13 chapters have scheduled the
seminars.
More sessions of the program will be scheduled, ASTA said.
