ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- ASTA created a crisis contingency planning guide
called "Crisis Planning: Examining Your Business in Uncertain
Times," which is available on ASTAnet.
ASTA president and CEO Richard Copland said the Society set out
to assist members in protecting their businesses during the
sluggish economy and a potential war.
He said the plan will help agencies evaluate their situations
and determine the best actions to pursue.
The plan includes basic steps agencies can take, plus
information regarding personnel, reducing operating expenses, new
revenue opportunities, GDS contracts, outside assistance, supplier
relationships and what an agency should do if it cannot fulfill
business obligations.
It also contains a communications plan with talking points for
discussing travel during international conflict; it covers client
communications and provides a guide to media relations.
The plan, along with links to news and other information, can be
found at www.astanet.com/members/center/re_agency_crisis.asp.
