Amadeus North America has partnered with Miami Dade College
and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to offer an Amadeus certification course
at the two Florida schools.
Students will get hands-on training using Amadeus’ reservation
system, and can access Amadeus’ online e-University for self-paced coursework
and videos.
The Amadeus Training Services team worked with faculty
members at the schools to design the programs and provide assistance for
in-class preparation, lesson plans and hands-on exercises. Professors have the
opportunity to participate in the Amadeus Instructor Certification course.
The program is now available to Embry-Riddle students, and
will be implemented at Miami Dade College next year.
The partnerships with the two Florida colleges are a first
in the United States for the company, according to an Amadeus spokeswoman, but
not a first in North America.
In April 2014, Amadeus partnered with Seneca College in
Toronto to create a curriculum for students, offering courses at two levels of
expertise. Upon passing the final exam, students could opt to have their
contact information included in Seneca’s database, which is accessible to Amadeus-connected
travel agencies that are hiring.
Amadeus said it is in talks with other educational
institutions about implementing similar programs.
