Consolidator seemingly ceases operations

NEW YORK -- Travac, an air consolidator with offices in New York and Orlando, appears to have ceased operations.

A visit to Travac's Manhattan location by Travel Weekly on Dec. 31 revealed an empty office, save for one individual sorting the mail. The individual said he didn't expect Travac to open for business after Jan. 1.

Repeated attempts to contact Travac officials were unsuccessful.

According to its Web site, Travac works with than 15,000 travel agents and annually issues more than 75,000 international tickets.
