LanChile is planning a charter flight over Antarctica in
conjunction with TravelQuest International to view the total solar
eclipse on Nov. 23. Pre- and post-flight extensions can be added at
an additional cost.
The flight will depart Punta Arenas, Chile, and fly over the
South Pole on a 14-hour, round-trip journey.
The Antarctica route will fly over Amundsen-Scott Station and
Palmer Station, two research stations at the South Pole, and Vinson
Massif, the highest point in Antarctica.
The flight aboard A340 aircraft will take passengers on a direct
path with the eclipse, which will last two minutes, 26 seconds.
