Hotels.com, Worldspan begin GDS distribution: Travel Weekly

ATLANTA -- Worldspan and Hotels.com struck a distribution deal that enables Worldspan's travel agency customers to book Hotels.com's inventory in Worldspan Hotel Select.

The first phase of implementation of the unannounced deal between the GDS and the Internet discounter, which is owned by InterActiveCorp, began Tuesday.

Contacted by TravelWeekly.com, Hotels.com president Bob Diener confirmed the deal Wednesday and said the company views the GDS initiative as an optional way -- namely, its hotel partners can opt in or out -- for Hotels.com to increase distribution for its hotel participants.
