SAN DIEGO -- Customers ofBookTravelDirect.com, a provider of on-line
travel services, now can engage in a live chat with an agent when
they need to change travel plans on the fly.
BookTravelDirect employed Seattle-based InstantService.com to install the live chat
technology. The chat service is available seven days a week: 6 a.m
to 8 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on
Friday and Saturday.
"We had a client in Rome who had a family emergency and had to
change flight reservations," said Brad Anderson, president of
BookTravelDirect. "He used the live, on-line chat and we were able
to accommodate him immediately."
Before introducing the chat service, the e-company subjected it
to beta testing for two months.
