ATLANTA -- Worldspan and Air Canada signed an agreement Sept. 29 in
which Air Canada agreed to participate in Worldspan Claim PNR.
Worldspan positions the product as a means to reduce passive
segments and to hold down carriers' distribution costs.
Worldspan Claim PNR "allows Worldspan travel agencies to
retrieve and claim an airline-booked reservation directly through
the Worldspan system, then assume control of it for ticketing
without entering a passive segment or having to call the carrier,"
Worldspan explained.
