JOYSTAR, the Alisa Viejo, Calif.-based host
agency, purchased a $2 million professional liability insurance
policy that covers all of its home-based travel agents. "The high
cost of E&O Insurance has been a major topic of concern for all
travel agents," noted William M. Alverson, chairman and CEO. "The
bottom line is everyone makes mistakes. Without coverage you risk
losing everything. Being covered under professional liability
insurance isn't just to protect you in case of negligence. It can
also save you from embarrassment and a tarnished business
reputation when a client asks if you are covered."
SALES SUPPORT NETWORK has advised members to use
registered e-mail when corresponding with clients. OSSN, comprised
of independent retailers, endorsed Rpost, a product that generates
a tamperproof, registered receipt containing data that proves the
time and date when an e-mail was received and its contents. "RPost
will give our members a simple tool that makes their e-mails
completely accountable and Verifiable," said Gary Fee, OSSN's
founder and president.
