Azamara Cruises hires Alex Pinelo to head sales

Azamara Cruises has named Alex Pinelo head of sales for North America, effective Sept. 1.

Pinelo was most recently chief sales officer at AmaWaterways. He joined AmaWaterways in 2017 as director of Latin America and previously worked at Norwegian Cruise Line and Disney Cruise Line.

Azamara CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler said Pinelo "is so beloved by travel advisors, and that's the group we’re committed to."

Pinelo said he has "long admired Azamara's leadership and its unwavering dedication to truly immersive travel experiences."

Azamara’s previous North America sales head, Michelle Lardizabal, departed in May to join Signature Travel Network as chief marketing and sales officer.
