ALASKA
AIRLINES announced yet another new nonstop flight between
the U.S. and Mexico, the fifth nonstop route the airline has rolled
out in the past month. Alaska said it will offer nonstop seasonal
service between San Francisco and Cancun starting Oct. 28 through
April. Initially, the airline will offer nonstop flights three days
a week. Cancun will become the fifth Mexican destination served
from San Francisco; the others are Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta,
Mazatlan and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. To promote the new service, Alaska
is offering a $129 one-way fare. Tickets must be purchased by Aug.
31 for travel by Dec. 19.
THE
CARRIER most recently received DOT approval to fly nonstop
between Los Angeles and La Paz year-round starting Oct. 30. The
flights will operate three days a week to start. During the past
month, Alaska has also announced new nonstop service between
Seattle and Cancun and between Portland, Ore., and both Los Cabos
and Puerto Vallarta. Alaska Airlines offers packages to Mexico

AEROMEXICO, Mexicos largest airline, last month launched
nonstop service four times a week between Los Angeles and Culiacan
near Mexicos Pacific coast. Culiacan becomes the sixth Mexican city
