Culinary concoctions from celebrity chefs; debates by Caribbean students; destination products, attractions and services; and numerous cultural, social and business events -- all are designed to showcase the best of Caribbean tourism during the Caribbean Tourism Organization's 45th Caribbean Week in New York.
Topics to be discussed in workshops and general sessions focus on targeting niche market sectors, leveraging the cultural side of the Caribbean, developing sustainable tourism practices and navigating travelers' demands to increase market share and revenue.
Most events take place at the Wyndham New Yorker hotel, although several diaspora events take place in Brooklyn, and the celebrity chefs cooking demonstrations are set for the Bloomingdales department store.
The Rum & Rhythm finale on June 7 with headliner Skinny Fabulous, a Vincentian soca artist, will be held at Capitale, a restaurant in downtown Manhattan.
