Cayman Islands extends border closures

The borders of the Cayman Islands will remain officially closed until Sept. 1, according to tourism minister Moses Kirkconnell.

The cruise port on Grand Cayman and the airports on Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman Brac had been set to reopen on or after May 31, but the new timeline was approved by the government on May 8.

The curfew has been lifted on  Little Cayman, but curfews remain in effect on Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and for 24 hours on Sundays on Grand Cayman.

All beaches remain closed on Grand Cayman.

Regulations can be found at www.exploregov.kygovernment-covid19-policies.
