Boiling Lake in Dominica is popular with hikers.

To encourage visitors to hike the various trails in Dominica, the Discover Dominica Authority developed an official Trail Hiker's Logbook and Passport.

Hikers can record their experiences in the passport.

The passports are complimentary and can be obtained from the authority's main office on Great Marlborough Street. in Roseau and at the tourist information offices at the Roseau bayfront, ferry terminal and Douglas-Charles airport.

Because each hike is different and each has its own challenges, each is given a score in the Passport that represents its level of difficulty.

The ratings are indicators on the levels of difficulty of each hike.

Dominica's Ministry of Tourism and Culture has invested in the restoration of various hiking trails as well as the reconstruction and refurbishment of structures on or near the trails.
