The Dolphin Discovery, Grand Cayman's newest attraction, is scheduled to open by the end of the month at a custom-built facility on the site of the old Turtle Farm in West Bay.
Six bottle-nosed dolphins, four male and two female, recently arrived on a turboprop aircraft from the British Virgin Islands, where they had been quarantined for several months following their capture in Cuba. The dolphins' new home is a 2.5-million gallon lagoon.
Carlos Moreno, Dolphin Discovery's general manager, said that a swim-with-the-dolphins session will accommodate eight to 20 people during a 40-minute interactive program held several times a day.
Fees will be $179 for adults and $159 for children.
A second dolphinarium, also located in West Bay, is nearing completion.
