AC restored on Big Red Boat II

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. -- The air-conditioning problems that waylaid Premier Cruises' Big Red Boat II have been rectified, said a company spokesman, and the ship is scheduled to return to New York from Boston in time for its July 1 departure.

Premier canceled yet another sailing of the steamy ship on Monday, two days into a New England/Canada cruise from New York; all 900 passengers were off-loaded in Boston after the air-conditioning failed.

Passengers were transferred back to New York by motorcoach and were advised to contact their travel agent to reschedule their cruise or request a full refund.

Guests also will receive a certificate for a future cruise on any Premier ship.
