Australia-based Aurora Expeditions has hired its first trade marketing director for North America, Sue Haefner.

Haefner joins the cruise line after managing trade support and advertising at National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions. She is based in New Jersey.
Her appointment goes along with Aurora's increased focus on the U.S. market.
The line launched a new ship, the Douglas Mawson, last month. That grew its fleet to three ships, though National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions recently announced it will charter one of them, the Greg Mortimer, starting in 2027.
Aurora has expanded its itineraries beyond expedition cruises to small-ship cruising designed for an immersive but less adventure-focused vacation. Small-ship sailings are in Europe and Central America.
