The Carnival Breeze, under construction at Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, is scheduled to debut in June 2012 and spend its first summer season in the Mediterranean.
Following a maiden voyage from Venice on June 15, the ship — third in Carnival Cruise Lines' Dream class — will sail a series of 12-day cruises through Oct. 25 before repositioning to Miami for year-round Caribbean cruises.
Its Europe itinerary, departing from Barcelona, includes calls at Marseilles or Monaco; Livorno; Naples; Dubrovnik; Venice; Rome, and Messina. Some voyages will overnight in Venice or Rome (Civitavecchia).
From Miami, the 3,600-passenger ship’s six-day sailings will visit Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; and Nassau, Bahamas.
Eight-day Southern Caribbean cruises will call at Grand Turk; La Romana, Dominican Republic; Curacao; and Aruba. Eastern Caribbean sailings will visit St. Thomas/St. John, U.S.V.I; Antigua; Tortola, B.V.I.; and Nassau.
The Carnival Breeze will be Carnival's 24th ship. The Carnival Magic, the second Dream-class ship, entered service on May 1.
