The Carnival Spirit has emerged from a monthlong dry dock with a new themed bar, more gaming machines in the casino, a refreshed spa and other revitalized spaces.
A refurb of the 2001-built ship includes the addition of Carnival's 14th Heroes Tribute Bar, a space with deep red and blue colors meant to serve as a gathering place for active-duty military personnel and veterans. The themed bar replaces what was previously an unnamed sports bar.
Other changes on the Spirit include a refreshed Cloud 9 spa and fitness center as well as revitalized retail shops, including the Carnival Adventures Shop and the Dreams Studio photography hub. Carnival also created a space for the Chef's Table for VIP dinners and installed a new mini golf course.
The casino has a new layout and look, along with more gaming machines. The line also refreshed the ship's nightclub and updated its youth programming spaces.
The Spirit is sailing a 14-day transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Miami. It will depart Miami on March 30 for a 15-day cruise through the Panama Canal to Seattle, from where it will sail weeklong Alaska cruises in the summer. At the end of the season, the Spirit will sail a 15-day roundtrip cruise from Seattle to Hawaii and a 16-day voyage from Seattle to New Orleans before returning to its seasonal homeport in Mobile, Ala.
