Carnival Cruise Line said the Carnival Triumph has been
re-inspected by federal sanitation officials and scored a 98 out of a possible
100 on the exam.
The Triumph scored an "unsatisfactory" 78 in a November check by the U.S.
Vessel Sanitation Program, a part of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.
A re-inspection performed Jan. 8 resulted in a satisfactory
score, which is anything above 85. The Triumph had never before received an
unsatisfactory score in its 19-year history.
The re-inspection score has not yet been posted in the VSP
inspection database.
