Celebrity Cruises chose Nina Barough, founder of a U.K.-based cancer charity, to serve as godmother of Celebrity Equinox.
Barough will name the 2,850-passenger ship in Southampton, England, during a ceremony on July 29.
Her organization, Walk the Walk, raises awareness and funds to treat breast cancer ($85 million to date) through four annual marathon walks in London, Edinburgh, Bristol and Newcastle.
"Nina is an outstanding leader, businessperson and fundraiser, but what is perhaps most impressive, and certainly most inspiring, is her tireless devotion to breast cancer causes," said Richard Fain, chairman of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Celebrity's parent company.
Barough, a breast cancer survivor, was recognized at the Pride of Britain Awards last September as fundraiser of the year.
Celebrity Equinox, the second ship in Celebrity's Solstice-class fleet, enters service July 31 from Southampton on an eight-day Norwegian Fjords cruise.
The ship's official maiden voyage departs Aug. 8 for the Mediterranean.
