Cunard Line said that during select 2018 transatlantic crossings
from June to November, cartoonists from The New Yorker magazine will host drawing
sessions, workshops, hands-on demonstrations and caption contests for
passengers on the Queen Mary 2.
The "Cartoonists at Sea" program will include feature
Emily Flake (July 20), Matt Diffee (June 10 and Nov. 11); David Sipress (Aug.
26) and Ben Schwartz (Oct. 7).
The New Yorker is known for its single-panel cartoons.
A 2011 cover cartoon on the U.S. economy featured a trio of
plutocrats in tuxedos and top hats raising a champagne toast in a lifeboat,
while behind them a Titanic-like ship sinks in the background.
