Firm buys six Renaissance ships at auction

PARIS -- A company based in the Marshall Islands called Cruiseinvest said it acquired six ships from the fleet of Renaissance Cruises in auctions held in Gibraltar and Tilbury, U.K.

Ths ships are R1, R2, R5, R6, R7 and R8.

Cruiseinvest is setting up a representative office in Paris to oversee the management of the fleet. The company will be headed by Dominique Prunier, former chief financial officer of Festival Cruises. The technical management of the fleet will be handled by Martinoli S.A.M., a ship-management company based in Monaco.

American Marine Advisors, a New York-based investment bank, is working with Cruiseinvest to sell or lease the ships to cruise operators.
