Carnival Corp. said that port closures and voyage
disruptions from the spate of hurricanes in Texas, Florida and the Caribbean
will reduce earnings by $72 million to $86 million in the fourth quarter.
In the 2016 fourth quarter, Carnival earned $609 million.
Flagship brand Carnival Cruise Line brand has the most ships
in the Caribbean of any cruise operator.
Carnival also reported Tuesday that its third-quarter net
income fell to $1.3 billion from $1.4 billion. The results include noncash
impairment charges for ships, trademark and goodwill of $392 million driven by
the company's decision to strategically realign its business in Australia.
