Carnival Corp. CEO Josh Weinstein has been selected as chairman of cruise line trade group CLIA, succeeding Royal Caribbean Group CEO Jason Liberty, who has completed a two-year term.

As chairman, he will head CLIA's Global Executive Committee, which helps set CLIA's priorities and strategy alongside president and CEO Bud Darr. The role comes with a two-year term.

Weinstein has led Carnival Corp. as CEO since 2022, when he already had 20 years with the company. Carnival Corp. is the largest cruise operator in the world and reported a record $26.6 billion in revenue in 2025.

Darr said Weinstein "brings deep experience and a thoughtful, collaborative approach."

Weinstein called this a pivotal time for the cruise industry that requires "effective coordination across the sector," which CLIA helps facilitate.

"The industry will continue to demonstrate its commitment to responsible growth, achieving our greenhouse gas reduction short-term goals and long-term ambitions, deepening relationships with our ports and destination partners, investing in workforce development, and contributing positively to the communities we serve," he said.
