Latin pop singer Ricky Martin and classical singer Andrea
Bocelli will head the lineup of entertainers and celebrities engaged by MSC
Cruises to appear during the naming ceremony for the MSC Seaside.
The ship is scheduled to be named in Miami by actress Sophia
Loren on Dec. 21. It will be the first MSC ship to go directly from the
shipyard to sailing in North America.

Ricky Martin will sing his hits at the MSC Seaside naming ceremony.
Also making a guest appearance at the event will be Miami
football legend and Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino, who played for the
Miami Dolphins for 17 years. MSC Cruises signed a partnership with the Dolphins
in October, becoming the official cruise line for the team.
An Italian classical tenor, Bocelli sang at last year’s
naming ceremony for the Regent Seven Seas Explorer in Monte Carlo.
Martin, who was a member of Puerto Rican boy band Menudo in
the '80s, has also acted on soap operas and had a hit with the song “Livin’ La
Vida Loca” in 1999.
MSC said the master of ceremonies for the christening will
be actor and TV host Mario Lopez.
