In an effort to enable more travel agents to experience Freestyle Cruising, Norwegian Cruise Line is offering them special fares.
Agents must be enrolled in NCL University, the line’s educational program.
Called "Partners First Onboard," the initiative offers a "customized onboard experience," NCL said.
"The more our partners educate themselves on Freestyle Cruising, the better they are able to pass that knowledge on to their customers, which is an advantage for everyone involved,” said Camille Olivere, NCL's vice president of sales for the Americas.
The agent rates are offered in three tiers, so as retailers move through the educational program and achieve acertain status, they receive lower prices.
More sailings will now be available to book in advance rather than at the last minute, said NCL. Also, special rate requests can now be submitted online.
Once booked, agents will receive a pre-cruise letter from Olivere that gives an overview of the ship and recommendations for dining and shore excursions.
Agents will receive a $50 dining credit to experience one of NCL's specialty restaurants, along with other amenities.
