DENVER -- Navigant International is the latest group to launch an
on-line Cruise Center designed to allow consumers to select
research and book cruises on 10 different lines from three on-line
locations.
Cruise inventory is now available from Navigant's leisure travel
site at www.navigantvacations.com or its cruise specific site
at www.cruisecenter.com.
First USA Visa cardholders also will have access through the
First USA Visa site. The Cruise Center will offer discounts of up
to 60% off brochure rates to the South Pacific, Alaska, the Greek
isles and the Panama Canal.
Thom Nutly, Navigant's president, cited "the rising popularity
and availability of cruises to the North American vacationer" as
the reason for establishing Navigant's Cruise Center.
The new system allows Navigant to "[tap] into the rising
popularity and availability of cruises to the North American
vacationer," said Thom Nutly, Navigant's president. Customers who
want to talk directly to a travel agent can send an e-mail request
through the site to agents "familiar with the offerings' who will
respond, said company officials.
The on-line cruise center will tap into Navigant's 1 million
corporate customers, said Navigant chief executive officer Edward
Adams.
