MIAMI -- Norwegian Cruise Lines' yet-to-be deployed Norwegian Dawn
will get a New York berth next year, sailing seven-day roundtrip
cruises to Florida and the Bahamas from May through October.
The Dawn, a sister ship to the Norwegian Star, debuts in
December 2002, although, due to what the line said was a series of
inaugural events, the launch date was pushed back a week, to Dec.
21.
The ship's first sailings will alternate seven-day eastern and
western Caribbean sailings from Miami before repositioning to New
York.
NCL's chief executive officer Colin Veitch said the New York
sailings on the Dawn will be "irresistible" to New Yorkers.
Other highlights of NCL's 2003 program include five-port,
seven-day summer cruises to Canada and New England from Boston and
New York on the Norwegian Sea; three ships sailing Alaska
itineraries; and cruises in South America and Europe on the
Norwegian Dream, NCL's only ship to sail outside U.S. waters next
year.
