MIAMI -- A 23-year-old female passenger on a Caribbean sailing
aboard Rhapsody of the Seas was reported missing shortly before the
ship docked for a scheduled port call in Curacao.
The family of Amy Bradley said it believes she was abducted and
is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to her safe
return, according to Royal Caribbean International, which owns and
operates the Rhapsody.
The FBI completed its shipboard investigation and found no
evidence of foul play but is continuing its investigation
elsewhere.
The Rhapsody sailed roundtrip from San Juan, Puerto Rico, on
March 21, with port calls at Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten and St.
Thomas.
According to the line, Bradley, who lives in the Richmond, Va.,
area, occupied a high-category cabin with her parents and
brother. Her father reported seeing her asleep on the balcony at
around 5 a.m. on March 24, as the ship approached Curacao,
according to a Royal Caribbean spokesman.
The ship docked at around 6 a.m.
Her father said he did not see her on the balcony the next time
he viewed the area, around 6:15 a.m. He reported her disappearance
to the purser's office around 7:30 a.m., the spokesman added.
A search of the ship was conducted by Rhapsody's crew, and
Curacao's coast guard searched the waters.
The FBI's San Juan office began investigating the case March 25,
when the Rhapsody reached St. Maarten. Royal Caribbean said it
engaged a private company to make a second search of the waters off
Curacao on March 27, again finding nothing.
