Princess Cruises said its Alfredo's Pizzeria aboard the Sun Princess and Star Princess has received the Ospitalita Italiana certification.
The Italian government certification is a seal of quality and authenticity for Italian restaurants, pizzerias and gelaterias worldwide.
Princess said the honor affirms its "commitment to delivering genuine Italian flavors at sea using fresh ingredients, preservation of traditional culinary techniques and the highest standards of service."
Alfredo's bakes Neapolitan-style pizza in a stone Moretti Forni oven. Princess' chef collaborator for pizza, Tony Gemignani, has won 13 world titles in pizza making. He created five pizzas for Princess, including a hot soppressata pie with tomato sauce, arugula, mozzarella, parmigiano and hot honey.
