Princess Cruises will add adults-only, quiet areas to its entire fleet by 2010, expanding the Sanctuary areas that debuted on the Crown Princess.
Citing the area's popularity, Princess will add the Sanctuary to the Island Princess, Grand Princess and Star Princess by the end of this year and the rest of the fleet over the next two years. The Ruby Princess will have the Sanctuary when it enters service in November.
The Sanctuary sits on the upper, aft end of the Crown, but Princess said its location will change depending on the vessel.
The Sanctuary was free when it was introduced in 2006 on the Crown, but the feature became so popular that Princess began charging $10 for about four hours of use.
For $10, Sanctuary guests can lounge on plush, outdoor furniture while listening to softly playing spa music. They receive Evian atomizers and stewards hand out chilled towels. Guests can rent MP3 players with preloaded relaxation music and can order from a healthy food and beverage menu.
The Sanctuary also has outdoor private cabanas where guests can receive certain spa services.
