Saying demand has risen for India river sailings, Pandaw Cruises has expanded its collection of Hooghly River cruises with three- and four-night itineraries.
Pandaw said the short cruises are designed for travel advisors and DMCs to bolt on a river cruise to India land tours.
The cruises are roundtrip from Kolkata. Guests can opt for a three-night upstream cruise or a four-night downstream sailing.
"One of the biggest shifts we're seeing is travelers treating India as a collection of regions rather than a single destination," said Yves Van Kerrebroeck, Pandaw's commercial director. "Guests are increasingly combining places like Rajasthan, Darjeeling, Assam and Kerala into one journey, and they're looking for experiences that fit naturally between those destinations."
The upstream itinerary visits Kalna, Matiari and Murshidabad. Guests will take a rickshaw ride to explore terracotta temples, visit the historic battlefield of Plassey and see a mosque and palace.
The downstream journey takes travelers to Baranagar, Azimganj, Mayapur and Chandernagore, where they will visit the Hare Krishna global headquarters, learn about Islamic history in Bengal and enjoy a tuk tuk ride to a temple.
