Princess Cruises will base the Caribbean
Princess in New York for summer 2008, the line's third season
sailing out of the Big Apple.
For the vessel's 2008
New York debut it will offer two different nine-day eastern
Caribbean itineraries on 11 departures between May 17 and Aug. 15,
2008.
Eight of the trips
will include Bermuda, San Juan, St. Thomas and Grand Turk, Turks
and Caicos while the other three sailings will swap St. Maarten for
Bermuda.
The Caribbean
Princess will also offer one seven-day Exotic Eastern Caribbean
sailing to San Juan departing on Oct. 26, calling at St. Kitts,
Antigua and St. Thomas.
"The Caribbean
Princess takes over for the Crown Princess, which successfully
debuted on this crowd-pleasing route last year," said Jan Swartz,
Princess' senior vice president of customer service and sales, in a
statement.
"Passengers have
loved this opportunity to sail to the Caribbean from our convenient
New York terminal in Brooklyn, and we're delighted to return for a
third season."
Sailings open for
bookings on March 24.
