Holland America Line's Oosterdam has a new couple's massage room and expanded casino, just two of the many projects completed during its two-week drydock in the Bahamas.
The Greenhouse Spa & Salon now has a co-ed sauna, new manicure stations and a couples massage therapy room. The thermal suite has a new laconium, steam room and rain shower.
Guests can also enjoy new hot tubs at the Sea View pool and new equipment in the fitness center.
The line laid down new carpet in the suites, verandah staterooms and some public areas like the Rolling Stone Lounge, totaling more than 215,000 square feet.
The casino was expanded to include the space that was formerly the Gallery Bar, an expansion that enabled the addition of 34 slot machines and a digital table game. Holland America Line also replaced the movie theater with an Effy Lounge and shop for jewelry.
The Crow's Nest was overhauled and has a new game area, puzzle area and a refreshed arts studio.
Various other venues across the ship had refreshes. The Rolling Stone Lounge may be the most dramatic, with new furnishings, lighting, flooring and an enhanced bar. The Lido Market buffet has new tile and countertops while the Sea View and Lido pools got new coatings. The Neptune Lounge has new furniture and a concierge desk as well as new lighting and drapes.
With the two-week project complete, the Oosterdam has embarked on a transatlantic cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona.
The Oosterdam debuted in 2002 and has a capacity for 1,964 passengers at double occupancy.
