NORTH AMBERGRIS CAYE, Belize --- What will be the largest hotel in
Belize currently is under construction on Ambergris Caye, a popular
dive destination on a barrier reef island off the north coast of
Belize.
The $40 million Avalon Reef Club, previously the 32-room Casa
Caribe, will have 242 units when completed in mid-2003 and will
employ more than 300 staff.
Facilities will include a yacht club and marina, three
restaurants, a dive academy and private fishing charters.
The Avalon Resorts Group, which owns Avalon Reef Club, also has
properties in Panama and in Mexico in Cancun and Isla Mujeres.
