Avalon Resorts puts kids in focus

The company created a program of organized activities for children ages 4 to 10 that's part of the all-inclusive package at the resorts.

Dubbed "Wild Things Kids Adventure," the program is offered daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at three of its five properties: the Avalon Reef Club in Isla Mujeres, Avalon Excalibur in Acapulco and the Avalon Grand Cancun.

The program includes arts and crafts-making and sports competitions.

Delta Air Lines expanded its code-share relationship with AeroMexico on July 7 by offering code-share service from Ontario, Calif., to Los Cabos and from Las Vegas to Monterrey.

The new service between Ontario and Los Cabos is offered Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Flights to Los Cabos depart Ontario at 2:20 p.m. and arrive in Los Cabos at 5:40 p.m. On the return, flights leave Los Cabos at 11:30 a.m. and arrive in Ontario at 12:50 p.m. The flights between Las Vegas and Monterrey operate on Thursdays and Sundays.

On Thursdays, the southbound route departs Las Vegas at 4:30 p.m. and arrives in Monterrey at 9:25 p.m. On Sundays, the southbound flight departs Las Vegas at 6:45 p.m. and arrives in Monterrey at 11:40 p.m.

Northbound on Thursdays, the flight departs Monterrey at 2:45 p.m. and arrives in Las Vegas at 3:35 p.m.; on Sundays, departure time from Monterrey is 4:45 p.m. and arrival in Las Vegas is 5:35 p.m.

With this new service, Delta offers 220 flights to 35 cities in Mexico in conjunction with Aeromexico.

In another benefit of the Delta/Aeromexico alliance, Aeromexico Vacations recently began marketing vacations to Cancun for travelers from Atlanta; Baltimore; Boston; Cleveland; Columbus, Ohio; Detroit; Greenville, S.C.; Nashville; New Orleans; Washington; and Greensboro and Raleigh/Durham, N.C.

Because of the code-share agreement, customers will be able to fly on Delta to its hub in Atlanta, where they will connect to Cancun via Aeromexico (flights 610 and 611).

Aeromexico Vacations' three-night packages to Cancun start at $514 from Atlanta; $569 from Baltimore; $619 from Boston; $589 from Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, Greensboro, N.C., or Nashville.; $639 from Detroit; $614 from Raleigh/Durham, N.C.; and $569 from Washington. Prices include roundtrip air fare.
