Disney revamps airport service

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World Resort here will introduce an upgraded airport transfer and baggage service called Disneys Magical Express, which includes a roundtrip airport shuttle, baggage delivery and remote airline check- in at no extra charge.

The package will be offered beginning May 5, the day Disney kicks off its 50th anniversary of Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif.

Under the terms of the offer, guests will be able to check their bags at the point of departure and not have to worry about them until they arrive in their hotel rooms.

The service is being offered as an option with Disneys Magic Your Way tickets and packages, which were announced in early December and became available Jan. 2.

Disney also is rolling out a remote airline check-in option that enables departing guests to get boarding passes for their return flights before leaving the hotel. The remote check-in option is available as part of the packages or separately.

The participating airlines are Delta, Continental, American, United and Ted.

Disney plans to add other airlines to the program. Ground transportation for the package is provided by the Mears Transportation Group.

Customers must book the service 10 days before arrival at Disney World. Consumers can book the packages at www.disneyworld.com. Travel agents can book the packages for commission at www.disneytravelagents.com. Disneys reservations center phone number is (407) 934-7639.
