Great Outdoor Recreation Pages (GORP), an Internet site for active,
outdoor travel, acquired American Wilderness Experience (AWE), a
tour operator based in Boulder, Colo., that offers a variety of
outdoor vacations from 150 suppliers.
GORP plans to make available AWE's travel offerings on its Web
site, www.gorp.com, and on AWE's site, www.awe trips.com,
in January.
The expanded sites are expected to include booking capabilities
for hiking, skiing, scuba diving, rafting, biking, dude ranches and
other outdoor travel. Terms of the acquisition were not
disclosed.
