The Presidente
InterContinental Mexico City is offering a reduced rate, $125 per
night per room (down from $219), when customers purchase the Frida
Kahlo Experience package.
The package costs
an additional $245 per person and includes two days of museum
tours, including the Palace of Fine Arts, the Diego Rivera Mural
Museum, the Dolores Olmedo Museum and Casa Azul, the house where
Kahlo lived and painted and which now houses the Frida Kahlo
Museum.
Tickets to museums,
lunch at Mexico City restaurants, transportation and an
English-speaking guide are included.
In addition, guests
can choose two of the following complimentary options: daily
breakfast, a room upgrade, a city tour or children's meals at the
hotel's Frutas y Flores restaurant.
A two-night minimum
stay is required, and the discounted room rate is only available
Thursdays through Sundays. The Frida Kahlo package is available on
Fridays and Saturdays.

Cancun is gearing
up for the first Cancun in Lights Festival, scheduled for Nov. 25
to 28, featuring musicians such as Chaka Khan, Poncho Sanchez,
Little Louie Vega, Claudia Villela and Los Amigos
Invisibles.
The four-day event
will be broadcast by Fashion Television. Each evening will carry a
different theme, with various activities taking place
simultaneously, including movie screenings, food tastings prepared
by Cancun's top restaurants and after-parties.

Karisma Resorts'
newest property, the Azul Hotel & Beach Resort in the Riviera
Maya, will set the standard for the brand's gourmet-inclusive
concept, said company officials.
Gourmet-inclusive
is designed to combine the all-inclusive vacation with a high level
of food service. The program will be implemented at all of the
company's resorts.
The Azul Hotel
& Beach Resort is being marketed as the region's first
all-inclusive "boutique" property.
The 102-room resort
will have two restaurants, a cafe and sandwich shop, a tequila
lounge and "beach butlers" providing refreshments, towels and sun
products for guests on the beach.
The resort is
scheduled to open in November.
The Marquis Los
Cabos Beach, Golf, Spa and Casitas Resort is bringing a taste of
Thanksgiving tradition to Los Cabos, with a three-night
Thanksgiving Special package.

the resort from Nov. 25 to 30 will stay for free on Thanksgiving

The Iberostar
Paraiso Maya will open the first week of December on Playa Paraiso
between Cancun and Playa del Carmen.
The 432-suite
resort is being marketed as the highest tier member of the
Iberostar family of properties in Mexico. The resort will feature
personalized, sit-down check-in (no front desk), luxury room
amenities and a spa.
Iberostar Paraiso
Maya joins Iberostar Paraiso Beach, Iberostar Paraiso del Mar and

fitness center and 18-hole golf course will debut at the Iberostar

Continental,
pending government approval, will launch its first nonstop routes
to Mexico from Los Angeles and Laredo, Texas, Dec. 16.
The Los Angeles
daily service will be to Aguascalientes, Leon-Guanajuato and
Morelia on 50-seat Embraer regional jets. Continental already flies
to those markets from Houston.
The daily Laredo
flights will be to Mexico City on a 37-seat Embraer regional
jet.
