Princess Cruises sailings will visit RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay instead of Princess Cays for published itineraries starting in November.
Princess Cruises Blog reported that the private island was being dropped from schedules. When contacted, Princess confirmed the replacement of Princess Cays, but the cruise line did not provide a reason for the change.
Both Bahamian private destinations are in the Carnival Corp. portfolio. Princess Cays, however, was specifically designed for Princess Cruises, while RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay was planned for Holland America Line and Carnival Cruise Line.
RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay has undergone significant updates.
There is now a pier, tram service, beach amenities like loungers and daybeds and new and upgraded dining venues and bars on the side of the island designed for Carnival Cruise Line.
On Holland America Line's side, a new beach club is underway as well as upgrades to beach facilities, cabanas and villas. There are also recently opened pickleball courts.
