LAS VEGAS -- It appears Las Vegas officials are embracing the
destination's "Sin City" image.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority rolled out a
swanky "Vegas Stories" ad campaign last month.
According to officials with the LVCVA, there are certain
unforgettable experiences that happen in Las Vegas that simply
don't (or can't) happen anywhere else.
Inspired by real stories from Las Vegas visitors, each ad brings
to life a scintillating adult story. The ads carry the tagline,
"What happens here, stays here."
The National Football League refused to air the spots during the
Super Bowl, and because of their provocative content, some of the
ads have been restricted to running only after 11 p.m. on major
networks.
Meanwhile, the LVCVA named Rossi Ralenkotter, previously senior
vice president of marketing, to the executive vice president
post.
Ralenkotter has worked for the LVCVA for 29 years and previously
served as vice president of marketing, director of marketing and
director of tourism.
Replacing Ralenkotter as senior vice president of marketing is
Terry Jicinsky, formerly manager and director of Internet marketing
and research for the LVCVA.
In his new position, Jicinsky will direct and administer the
authority's national and international marketing, advertising,
convention, tourism, public relations and research programs.
Additionally, Nancy Murphy, formerly director of sales, has been
named vice president of sales. In her new job, Murphy will direct
the LVCVA's sales efforts in the trade show, meetings and tourism
market segments and oversee the marketing services department,
which includes the visitor information centers, housing
registration and call center.
