SAN FRANCISCO -- The Pacific Asia Travel Association's
administrative offices and Americas division will move from San
Francisco, for decades the headquarters of PATA, to downtown
Oakland at the end of August.
The move is being made to take advantage of less expensive
office space across the bay, said Bill Hastings, PATA's managing
director for the Americas.
PATA, which moved its operational headquarters to Bangkok in the
late 1990s, retains 12 staffers in the U.S., which has remained the
base for PATA's membership, accounting and IT departments and the
Americas division.
