Parkroyal rebranded a Novotel

ADELAIDE, Australia -- Novotel took over management of the Hindley Parkroyal hotel here, renaming it the Novotel Adelaide on Hindley.

The hotel was previously managed by Southern Pacific Hotel Group and continues to be owned by Thakral Holdings, based in Singapore.

Novotel is a brand of Accor.

The hotel, which gets most of its business from corporate travelers, finished a renovation of all of its 178 rooms in June.

The property also has a conference facility with six meetings rooms and a theater that can hold 420 people. The conference rooms will be refurbished next year.

It has a heated swimming pool and an exercise room, as well.

The hotel allows up to two children under the age of 16 to stay for free.

Located on Hindley Street, the hotel is near the Adelaide convention center, the Rundle Mall shopping area, the Adelaide Casino and the Festival Centre.

Michael Issenberg, Accor's managing director for Australia and New Zealand, called the management agreement "highly strategic."

The Adelaide Novotel brings to 19 the number of Novotels in Australia.

"We have been seeking a hotel in Adelaide for a number of years, and the Hindley ideally fits the Novotel brand," said Issenberg. "For corporate travelers, no other hotel group can offer such a comprehensive network of business class hotels.

"This is an important advantage when dealing with corporate clients, conference organizers, inbound tour operators and government."

Room rates range from $90 to $113 a night.
