with Silja Line, of Helsinki, Finland, to become the Baltic Sea
ferry company's sole U.S. representative.
SeaEurope Holidays, which also represents Copenhagen,
Denmark-based DFDS Seaways exclusively in the States, peddles its
own Town and Countryside Tours of northern Europe, as well as
related product from Royal Olympic Cruises, Icelandair Holidays,
Icelandair, SAS, Virgin Atlantic, Orbitz Travel and GTA Hotel
Program.
For its part, Silja is a leading passenger carrier on the
Baltic, transporting more than 5 million passengers in 2002 and
accounting for 59.6% of regular passenger traffic between Finland
and Sweden.
Six Silja liners sail regularly between Helsinki and Stockholm;
Turku, Finland, and Stockholm; Helsinki and Tallinn, Estonia; and,
in the summer, Helsinki and Rostock, Germany. Other ports of call
include Riga, Latvia, and Visby, Sweden.
