Residential cruise line Villa Vie Residences will launch a second ship, the Legacy, in 2029.

Residences will be about 50% larger than those on its current ship, the Odyssey. There will also be larger public spaces and expanded dining venues. Prices will be about 30% higher on the Legacy.

The Odyssey was formerly the Braemar, Fred. Olsen Cruises ship. Villa Vie did not say from where the Legacy will come.

Villa Vie has a lifetime residency program called Endless Horizons, in which participants make a one-time purchase and have permanent residency rights. Now, Endless Horizons residency rights will apply to both the Odyssey and the Legacy.

Villa Vie is also offering a program for those interested in purchasing a residence on the Legacy who don't want to wait until 2029 to sail. The first 24 new ownership purchases on the Odyssey will have a guaranteed right to a comparable residence on the Legacy while still paying Odyssey maintenance rates.

The promotion, called the Legacy Bridge Program, only applies to purchases through the end of September.

Villa Vie launched the Odyssey in 2024, and it sails continual world cruises. In addition to the Endless Horizons program, purchase options include permanent residency, five-year residency or purchasing cabin rights. About 85% of the 650 residences on the Odyssey have been sold, Villa Vie said.

Guests can also rent accommodations or participate in a rent-to-own program.
